Well due to me and my wife’s new busy schedule, I have had quite a time keeping up with this blog she talked me into doing. So here is our August run down in one post.
We started out our month going to the NRA Whittington Center in Raton, NM to shoot the Rocky Mountain 3 gun.

Amazing Wildlife
Now some of you heard my wife talking about how skeptical she was to go to this match after I had her watch the video of last years match. But, I for one can say we are hooked! The match was very challenging, but a lot of fun. There were 8 stages spread out over the NRA Whittington Centers beautiful range! There were challenges for every aspect of the 3 gun sport; from long range rifle, shotgun and pistol, to crazy positions and a bonus target at 600 yards (which I hit!).

The match was ran very effectively by JJ and Denise Johnson! Thanks to all the RO’s and sponsors who took time, money and effort to keep this match an amazing one!
So we were home for a couple days to re-pack and had enough time to go shoot a night of practice at the Rio Salado range. Now Tasha has never shot this match before, and for me it had been probably 6 years, but she had to give it a try. We shot our 6 inch 9mm STI for the 8 stages over 1 day. It was very quick paced, with a couple stages that I had not seen before.
We were able to get into a squad with Scott Carnahan and Kandi Blick from Safariland, and had an entertaining time! Tasha has convinced me that next year we will need to get in some more practice, as what we did this year will not suffice.
I left Tasha in LA to fly to St. Louis for a meeting, while she hung out with Maggie Reese, Mike Voight and Taran Butler. Nope, no shooting involved…just some partying from what I hear.
I was home for about 20 hours when we hopped onto a plane to head to ST. Cloud, MN to shoot the DPMS Tri-Gun Challenge. This match was held on the Del-Tone/Luth Gun Club Range, next door to DPMS headquarters themselves.

Stage 6 @ DPMS Tri-Gun
The match was 10 stages of interesting positions, acquisitions and challenges. The match was two days long (suppose to be 3), with a team shoot on day 3. Our team (FNH USA) took 5th place at the team shoot!
We had a wonderful time and thank all the match staff, RO’s and sponsors for all the dedication and hard work!
